Tashi Namgyal Bhutia
Tashi Namgyal Lepcha is a traditional artist specialising in Thangka painting, mural art, and cement carving. He completed his four-year certified training in Thangka painting at the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom (D.H.H.), which laid the foundation for his artistic journey.
He has worked on murals, carvings, and shrine room paintings in monasteries, while also representing Sikkim’s traditional art forms at national exhibitions in Delhi and Hyderabad. Currently a paid artisan at D.H.H., his Thangka paintings are displayed and sold at the Sales Emporium.
Dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while refining his skills, Tashi remains a valued bearer of Sikkim’s artistic heritage.
